The Test Tube Alien Story

Naratuko has been the home of the good alien race for over a millennia. The forefathers originally inhabited the planet in its infancy, when it was a barren chunk of space rock formed when a meteor crashed into the nearby planet of Naragranit. Naragranit, constantly the target of meteors due to its massive size, had been the previous domain of the evil alien race until the planet's demise this century.

The atmosphere created around Naratuko exactly matched that which the good aliens needed to survive—and so first exile of the nomadic good alien race came to an end. Over time, the population of the good aliens filled the planet, building a home where peace and tranquility reigned for almost a thousand years.

When a meteor hit the dead center of Naragranit at the end of the last century, the evil aliens became a parasitic race on Naratuko. Seeking planetary domination, the evil aliens have turned Naratuko into a war-ravaged planet, leading to blood-shed on both sides. For the past twenty years, life on Naratuko has been a heart-breaking ordeal for the good aliens, as they lost thousands of their comrades in defending their home against the onslaught of evil. Their efforts had been successful—throughout the last two decades, the evil aliens have been unable to assume rule of Naratuko.

The good aliens have still been profoundly affected by the ravages of war, and their success has been a pyrrhic victory. The entire landscape of Naratuko has turned from the idyllic setting that generations of good aliens have planted and built—and turned into a planet of ruins and weeds. It was, however, still the home of the good aliens, and they had been determined to rebuild to former glory against the resistances of evil.

That plan was foiled by the most recent plot of the evil aliens. Undismayed by their defeat, the side of evil have decided that if Naratuko won't be theirs—it won't belong to anyone. Their twisted goal will lead to the destruction of the entire species of aliens on Naratuko—both good and evil. Their plan has commenced with the release of toxic gases which are slowly killing plant and alien life on Naratuko—both good and evil alike.

The elders of the good aliens realized that this signaled the beginning of the second exile of good—and most likely the end of their duration on Naratuko. They would do as their forefathers had done during the first exile, undergoing a genetic mutation that allowed them to regress their age and transform their bodies into that of an unborn alien. Though they would lose all the strength, power, and the home they had built over the course of the millennia, they would survive. With their minds intact, they would travel the galaxy in search of a sympathetic life form that would raise them back to adulthood, until a time when they would be able to search for a new planet to inhabit.

While destruction progressed on Naratuko, Kurion, Tatsuni, and Yagoni fled in their chrysalis state. The rest of the surviving good aliens were to follow as soon as they received word that a sympathetic life form was found.

All had gone as planned—until Dodec, leader of the evil army, recognized the launch lights coming from the Imperial Army Base. Dodec had once been a solder in the Imperial Army before becoming a traitor—he knew secrets about the history of the good aliens and their first exile, notably the mutation of their forefathers to regress into the chrysalis state to escape their previous domain. Rather than be outsmarted and left to be victims of their own strategy, Dodec, Shako, and Takon, the elders of evil, followed suit. Also regressing into chrysalis state, they pursued the trail of good in an attempt to wipe them out, once and for all…
